Anzac Day

Anzac Day is celebrated every 25 April, and commemorates Australian servicemen and women. April 25 1915 was the date the Australians (and other nationalities) took part in the landings at Gallipoli, Turkey, in World War 1. It turned out to be a defeat for the Allies, but it's now regarded as the nation's coming of age.
